Well, there are many characteristics that a "would-be" icon/leader possesses such as intelligence, charm, good-looks and passion for what he does. Also, there's their effective social skills that really helps his subordinates/group feel empowered or motivated. Usually there's a trait or a combination of it in the above that a person possesses that makes him a remarkable leader to a group but what is more important is, how well-known the whole organization is or their impact on society for their leader to be acknowledged as an "icon" by people. not many of the people that born with different traits from us.most of them i believe they make it on their own from the buttom to the top.not everybody can be that artistic brilliance,but lots of people have the potential to be leaders.
i love this channel,i spend most of my freetime on watching it.
