I am sorry but I find Smash Lab unbearable. It is a frightening dumbing down of this great channel. I sincerely hope that it will not set a trend for future programming. I am sure that the mythbusters bandwagon is a lucrative one but this was a failed attempt not to ever be repeated.
The experiments are vague and inconclusive. The team is unconvincing with each member seeming to add nothing to the 'experiments' than perhaps a touch of eye-candy. The final nail in the coffin for me was when the 'scientist' of the team observed, "Woah, it just got way hotter!" Please don't waste an hour of your daily scheduling on this garbage when you have so much more to offer. |

Completely agree. I saw that episode about protecting a house with a quite ingenious material, and was totally flabbergasted and disappointed with the design they came up with. I'm no designer, by the way, but the flaws were evident. The team is led by a female "scientist" who arrives at very wise conclusions, such as something will "get way hotter" when exposed to flames, and gets so excited by a vague experiment to proclaim "The house is going down". That is the kind of show that leaves nothing to be learned and it is just a waste of time and money.
