The SMASH LAB team, at their Crash Lab in California, the team – comprising scientist Deanne Bell, designer Nick Blair, ideas guy Kevin Cook, and engineer Chuck Messer – puts their ambitious plans to the test by breaking down technology to see how it works, then using their expertise to apply it in a different, supersized way.

From using truck bed liner paint normally used to protect vehicles from scratches and knocks to protect an entire building from a massive explosion, to utilizing retro firing rockets to help bring runaway trailers to a halt, to applying a new bomb-blast protection material on an entire Boeing 747, SMASH LAB puts innovation to the ultimate test amid fireballs, explosions, crashes, collapses, collisions and impacts. Because sometimes destruction is good for you!

SMASH LAB premieres every Thursday at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK), starting May 15. Encores on Friday at 0900 (9:00 am) and 1400 hrs (2:00 pm), Saturday at 2200 hrs (10:00 pm), Sunday at 0500 hrs (5:00 am), and the following week on Monday at 1600 hrs (4:00 pm).
