The University of Texas at Dallas Center for BrainHealth is a cutting-edge facility with a unique mission. Its mission is to unite brain research and brain therapies in an active partnership to build healthy minds and restore health to injured and diseased minds. The uniqueness of the UT Dallas Center for Brain Health is that it uses innovative approaches to uncover commonalities in brain research. One such approach is the novel Horizontal approach. Some of the aspects of the unique horizontal approach of BrainHealth are as follows:

• Establishing protocols for healthy brain function
• Diagnosing and treating children and adults
• Focusing across brain concerns in disease and injury
• Providing long-term follow up
• Facilitating discovery
• Expedites promising new treatments
• Transfers application across diverse diseases/injuries

The center has a board of directors which is divided into two parts: the Leadership Council and the Advisory Board. The Leadership Council has names like Sallie and Frederic Asche, Jr.Claudia and Dennis Berman, Toni and Norman Brinker, Theresa and David Disiere , Patsy Donors, John Harbin, Matrice Ellis-Kirk, among others. The Advisory Board also consists of eminent personalities like Vale Asche-Elkins, Debby and Buddie Barnes, Jr., Claudia and Dennis Berman, Cooper Blankenship among many others.
