Microwave can't kill a bug (roach) ? (I guess not)Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
recently, I heard a story that the roach can surive in a running microwave oven as long as the roach keep moving. the story made up some reason b'cos roach is so flat, so microwave can't easily to heat it up as the roach keep moving..... well, i don't think it is true!!!

I think that it depends on the length of the roach. If it's longer than or equal to the wavelength of the microwave radiation, then the heating effect will be less, and may not kill it. In the same way, a television aerial that is shorter than the T.V. signal wavelength will get poor reception.

I think it will kill the roach since microwave heats things up by vibrating water molecules. So the roach's internal fluids will start boiling and killing it and rendering your microwave unfit for culinary purposes

put a round fluorescent light bulb in a microwave, with a glass of water in the center, turn micro on for 30 seconds, watch what happens to the light bulb?? Its kool Feldspar

Yes, this is why I quoted (I guess not) B'cos micro-wave will kill anything inside the oven when you switch it on. It takes a while ~
